Commissioning a Portrait:

Stephanie Brown portraits are created by using oil and wax to build up richly textured realistic layers. Stephanie also does portraits in pastel, charcoal, pencil or a combination. Paintings can be hung framed, unframed or as a sculptural piece sitting on an easel.

She prefers to work from a combination of life drawing and photographic reference, due to time restraints & busy lifestyles. Drawings however can be easily completed in two or three life sessions if preferred.

Sittings can be done at your own home or the studio in Narrabeen, Sydney. With children and animals your home is usually preferable as they are surrounded by the comfort of their own environment. Allow 8-10 weeks for the painting process as there are many layers of paint needing time to dry and allow approx one week for a small drawing.

Prices are based on unframed and will vary depending on medium, complexity, size and number of subjects in the portrait.

Stephanie can give you an accurate quote following discussion of requirements.

A small painted portrait (A3 - 40 x 30cm) start from $1,500 for head & shoulders, one subject

A small pencil or charcoal drawing (A3 - 40 x 30cm) start from $600
